Investigate an empty SMS inbox in the right order

OPEN RAMBO ·

First establish whether the target accepted the number and sent an SMS. An empty inbox alone cannot identify the failing party.

Published by OPEN RAMBO. The engineering patterns and pseudocode illustrate designs, not a documented product API. Numerical examples are illustrative.

Verify the customer-visible step

Ask for the target platform, selected country and redacted error text. Distinguish a send button that was never activated from a sent confirmation. Do not ask the customer to expose credentials or the code in a public discussion.

Check the receiving timeline

Compare allocation time, expiry, last successful status query and any receipt event. If polling failed, the UI may be stale even when the upstream received a message. Query the same order before purchasing another number.

End with a specific outcome

Classify target rejection, no confirmed send, transport issue, waiting or expired without receipt. For expired orders, follow the applicable cancellation or refund process. Do not promise that changing a number will solve an unknown target-account restriction.

Illustrative implementation

accepted? -> send_confirmed? -> order_still_active?
-> latest_status_read_ok? -> receipt_present?
# Preserve unknown answers instead of guessing.

Acceptance check

A support conclusion should name the failed or unknown stage and the next action, with no unsupported attribution of blame.
